Recognized as one of the premier concours in the country and the largest in the Northeast, Greenwich is unique in that it is two concours back to back.

Sunday - European car day started off damp and foggy but eventually they sun broke through and illuminated a stunning collection of classic cars including the fabulous featured marque of Italian coach builder Zagato who is celebrating their 100th anniversary during the 2019 year.

NYAROC members were in attendance; Mike Bange, Rob and Joyce Rizzo, Vic Cerami, George and Barbara Linton, Gary Pezzella, Bert Wong, Tom Carren, Doug Perrone, Robert Wilder, Lawrence Auriana and John Catera who was displaying his beautiful and just restored 2600 Zagato.  Many other fine Zagato automobiles where in on display as well all overseen by third generation boss, Andrea Zagato who generously surprised Zagato owners with a custom canvas bag containing a beautiful new Zagato hard-cover book.

2017 Simsbury Fly-In and Car Show

In attendance were Roger Carlson, Frank La Sala, Mary Demers and the Trowbridge bothers. Vintage cars and some cool WWII trucks were on display. I never seen so many early Corvettes. Fiats Healy’s and MG were well represented. The Austin-Healy group were all together and they had their monthly meeting at the airport. We should try that some time. Special event was a B-17 fly over and some great model plane acrobatics. Early morning fog delayed the schedule and some of the special planes from coming but the cars were more than enough entertainment. Great event as always.

The Robert D. Cess Concorso d’Eleganza XII

The event was well attended with over 70 Italian sedans and sport car models. Frank La Sala represented CT-AROC. He relayed a greeting from Bob and pointed out that Bob who is recognized as a world authority in climate change and the atmospheric sciences, would have exclaimed that “God must be Italian” to have such a fine day. Dino Pappous also said a few word noted that the NY club has been gaining new members monthly due to the sale of the new Giulia. A fine Giulietta Berlina 1900 won second place and a hmmm- Countach got 1st place.
