The Alfa Romeo Owners Club of CT is starting its 2nd Sunday “Breakfast” this month with a great Connecticut car event, the April 14th edition of Caffeine & Carburetors in downtown New Canaan. See their website at http://caffeineandcarburetors.com. Set your GPS to the corner of Pine St. and Park St.
Those hoping to display their Alfa (or other unique vehicle) on Pine Street (between the New Canaan Metro North Station and Zumbach’s Gourmet Coffee) should plan on arriving prior to 7:45 am. Alternative prime display parking is available along Elm St. Extensive parking is available at the train station’s lots should you arrive after those venues are full.
Our plan is to depart New Canaan by 9:45 am and re-assemble at 10:00 am for a full breakfast at Wilton, CT’s renown Orem’s Diner, which is a short and pleasant drive along CT Rt 106 from New Canaan. Orem has a large parking lot, but we suggest parking at the adjacent commuter lot, on Rt 7, immediately south of the Rt. 106 intersection.
Those traveling to C&C from the Northwest, down Rt 7, might consider taking Rt 106, rather than traveling to the Merritt Parkway. The Merritt Parkway exit to New Canaan from the east is #38, Rt 123; from the west, take exit # 36, Rt 106.
