With appropriate respect and recognition…Roger was a notable Connecticut resident and president of the Alfa Romeo Connecticut Club.  Roger held degrees from the University of Minnesota and from Yale University with a Ph.D. in Forestry and Environmental studies.  Roger served on the faculty of the University of Illinois for 15 years, owned his own construction business, and enjoyed a variety of sports-related events including ice boating, skiing, sailing and ballroom dancing.  As an Alfa owner, he enjoyed restoring old cars, and attending local, state-wide and national AROC events.  Roger enjoyed touring this country, designing road rallies, and driving his 1959 Alfa Romeo 2000 roadster and 1974 Spider as much as possible.

With fond memories we, his friends and fellow club members, salute the meaningful, distinguished, and active life of Roger Carlson, his pipe and wooden matches, “our friend, president and fellow Alfisti.”
